2025 “A Magnificent Mom’s Day Experience” (Event Recap)

 

On Saturday, May 10, 2025, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center hosted the 5th Annual “A Magnificent Mom’s Day Experience” in celebration of Mother’s Day. This is a special event designed to inspire, motivate, and celebrate mothers of all ages.

Attendees enjoyed motivational speaking, dancing, complimentary brunch, a free beauty shopping experience, free giveaways and more.

Special guests included Laura Trevino, who serves as Community Outreach Representative for In the City For Good.

Community Partners included Office of Community Care and Empowerment, HELP, LIRA, In the City For Good, World Vision, DFW Voices for Education & Youth, Dallas Park and Recreation, Empowering the Masses, and Accident & Injury Chiropractic.

2024 “A Magnificent Mom’s Day Experience” (Event Recap)

On Saturday, May 11, 2024, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center hosted the 4th Annual “A Magnificent Mom’s Day Experience” in celebration of Mother’s Day. This is a special event designed to inspire, motivate, and celebrate mothers of all ages.

Attendees enjoyed dynamic keynote speakers, live entertainment, complimentary lunch and refreshments, raffles, and more. 

Special guests included Assistant City Manager Liz Cedillo-Pereira; Jessica Galleshaw, Director, Office of Community Care; Kimberly Traylor, Senior DEI Consultant at Oncor; Dawn Che, Herbalist & Yoga Instructor; and Hula Halau Kae’epa Hawaiian dancers from Tropical Events and Productions.

Special thanks to our vendors for attending, TwinTastic Bling, Wrapp’d and Ston’d, and Dats Different Accessory Styles.

On Saturday, May 13, 2023, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center hosted the 3rd Annual “A Magnificent Mom’s Day Experience” in celebration of Mother’s Day. This was a special event designed to inspire, motivate, and celebrate mothers of all ages.

Attendees enjoyed dynamic keynote speakers, flamenco dancing, complimentary lunch and refreshments, raffles, games, and more. 

Keynote speakers included Tammy Johnson, Founder of Empowering the Masses; Joyce Tapley, CEO of Foremost Family Health Center; and Sandee Treptow, Manager of Business and Community Marketing, Reliant NRG.

Special guests included the Diva Elite dance team and Flamenco Fever.

Special thanks to our vendors for attending, Candles by Shi, TwinTastic Bling, Rooted Designs, and Flobinna House of Fashion.

A Magnificent Mom’s Day Experience (Event Recap)

On Saturday, May 7, 2022, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center, in collaboration with LIRA Group, hosted its annual “Magnificent Mom’s Day Experience” to honor mothers of all ages with a special program designed to inspire the mind, body, and spirit. 

Attendees enjoyed dynamic keynote speakers, a belly dancing tutorial and performance, complimentary lunch and refreshments, raffles, games, prizes, and more. 

Special guests included Mistress of Ceremony Pastor Donna Slater, MLK Advisory Board District 5; Yulise Reaves Waters, Esq., Lone Star Justice Alliance; Jazze Maxie, Radio One; Evangelist Meshelle Johnson, No Boundaries Ministry; Elaine Sacks, MLK Advisory Board District 1; Neenah’s Authentic Belly Dancing; and Sahaja Yoga Meditation.
