MLK Remembrance Ceremony

The MLK Remembrance Ceremony is held annually on April 4 in front of the MLK Statue, honoring King’s life and legacy.


2022 MLK Remembrance Ceremony

This event took place on Monday, April 4, at 4:45 P.M. The theme was “It Starts With Me.” Special guests included Keynote Speaker, Rev. Dr. Michael W. Waters,  Author, Activist, and Pastor of Abundant Life A.M.E. Church; John Carter, Founder of Turner 12; the Alpha Sigma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.; and the James Madison High School JROTC.

Entertainment was provided by Marcia Jones and Vicky Rone. KFC sponsored food for the event.

2021 MLK Virtual Remembrance Ceremony

The MLK Remembrance Ceremony is an annual event honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The 2021 MLK Virtual Remembrance Ceremony was online event hosted by the City of Dallas MLK, Jr. Community Center and the Alpha Sigma Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. 

Pastor Chris Wesley of Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church was the Keynote Speaker.

2019 MLK Remembrance Ceremony and Open House

On Thursday, April 4, 2019, the City of Dallas MLK, Jr. Community Center and the Alpha Sigma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. held its Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Remembrance Service & Open House, at 6:00 p.m.

Special guests included Rev. Marcus D. King, Senior Pastor of Disciple Central Community Church, and the James Madison High School JROTC.
