The Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center’s annual Winter Warm-Up is a community-based effort to provide new coats, hats, and gloves to kids in need.
This year we were able to provide items to more than 700 (and still counting!) coats, hats, and gloves to families in need, stem kits for kids, hygiene packages and scarves, and a family food box for the holidays.
This year’s sponsors and community partners include the Alpha Sigma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Peter & Dena Silberman, LIRA Group, Chase Bank, HEB/Central Market, Atmos Energy, Accident & Injury Chiropractic, Terris Perkins, Jr., Bob’s Steak & Chop House, the MLK Branch Library, Empowering the Masses, In the City for Good, KIPP Public Schools – DFW, North Texas Food Bank, Bridgford Foods, Fair Park First, Geico, Rose Wright, Brittany Offord, Morningside Development Center, Miles of Freedom, Anis Brown, and Doris Edmon.
