The MLK Back to School Festival is designed to assist families with obtaining essential items needed to have a successful new school year, targeting elementary, middle, and high school students in economically disadvantaged families. In the past, we have donated backpacks and school supplies to more than 2,500 families. This year, our goal is to serve at least 3,500 families.
Students will receive (while supplies last):
- Free school supplies
- Free haircut & hairstyle vouchers
- Free uniforms
- Health & information vendors
- Physicals (available with insurance)
Parents must provide identification and children must be present to receive supplies. All items are free (while supplies last).
There is no registration is required to attend and receive supplies!
We are currently looking for health and information vendors to participate (only nonprofit, government, or service-based organizations). There is no cost to be a vendor, but all vendors are required to donate supplies to distribute to an estimated 3,500 families. Vendors will be given a 6-foot table and 2 chairs. This event will take place outside, so we suggest that you bring a tent or canopy. The last day to register is August 9, 2019. Space is limited!
